Hi Kelvin,
I'm going through the article and I'd change a few things before submitting it for a GA review.
- The plot fails WP:FILMPLOT because it's about 100 words too long. Try to trim any unnecessary info that is not required to understand what happens in the film. I'd do it but I have to admit I haven't seen this film.
- "Maggie Cheung, future star of the movie In the Mood for Love was originally meant to play the role of Siu-Yu, but was rejected by director Leong Po-Chih.". Does this have a source? I don't think you need to state other films she'd be in unless it related to the other production staff, because that's more about her career than Esprit d'amour.
- "According to Ringo Lam around one third of the film had been shot when Leong resigned, arguing with producer Karl Maka. In need of a quick and inexpensive replacement Maka gave the previously unknown Ringo Lam his big break. In an interview Lam explained, "I have no choice, I need food, so I do the best I can..." Lam received sole directing credit for the movie." I would slightly re-phrase this.
- I'm not sure if lovehkfilm.com falls under WP:RS as it's self-published material. Try to see if there any reviews of the film from books.google.com. This is always a hard part because finding critic reviews of older Hong Kong films I find to be very difficult. Failing that, try to use interviews with actors and stars from the film where they talk about the film's reception. Maybe since it was only nominated one award at the Hong Kong film awards, use that as prose opposed to table.
- The Classification might have to be removed per WP:FILMRATING. Unless it's related to the film's history, like in the article for Hard Target, Woo had to battle the producers who wouldn't let him get an R-Rating for the film so it was edited several times before it could be released.
- Throughout out the section, there are many headings and sub-headings for very short articles. I would remove them unless the production section gets much larger. Just seperate them as paragraphs.
- The home video section has a lot of information, but some reviewers may object to using yesasia as a source, since it's just a site used to sell film rather then being a film database or a historical thing. Some might see it as trivial. It might be good if you could change prose and write about if some of the home video copies have different film lengths or if some are cut in any way if you can get that information.
- The previous GA review said some links were dead, I haven't checked, but you might want to re-examine them.
That's all I can think of for now. If you could take a minute to go over my article I've cleaned up for Yes, Madam, that would be much appreciated too. ;) Andrzejbanas (talk) 15:05, 25 February 2013 (UTC)
I've started the review for Kung Fu Hustle. It looks to be in good shape as a whole, but I did note a few concerns on the review page. Let me know your thoughts, and thanks for your work on this one! -- Khazar2 (talk) 21:46, 5 March 2013 (UTC)
Initial comments
[edit]This looks very strong on first pass, as I'd expect from a former featured article that was only narrowly delisted. I've made some copyedits and prose tweaks as I went; please feel free to revert anything you disagree with, and doublecheck that I haven't accidentally added any new errors. Anything I couldn't immediately fix is listed below. Out of this, the biggest issue is probably the original research in the parodies/references section. Let me know your thoughts, and thanks again for your work. -- Khazar2 (talk) 21:49, 5 March 2013 (UTC)
- "After achieving commercial success with Shaolin Soccer,[2] Columbia Pictures Film Production Asia began to develop Kung Fu Hustle in 2002. " -- Did Columbia Pictures also develop Shaolin Soccer? The later description implies it was another company.
- "Kung Fu Hustle was produced with a budget of US$20 million" -- I'm not sure this detail belongs under the header "choreography".
- "Yuen managed to take seemingly outdated wuxia fighting styles like the Deadly Melody and Buddhist Palm and recreate them on the screen with his own imagination" -- This perhaps verges on opinion, with the strong implication that Yuen succeeded at something difficult. "recreate them on the screen with his own imagination" is also so vague that it could simply be cut. I'd suggest either attributing this in-text, or rewrite it more neutrally, e.g., "In his choreography, Yuen drew on seemingly outdated wuxia fighting styles like the Deadly Melody and Buddhist Palm."
- "under high resolution" -- would it be better to say "in high resolution"?
- "Having lost the Taiwanese film market in the late 1980s following a visit to China" -- What does it mean to say he "lost the market"? Is the sense here that he became unpopular?
- "Sing studied the same Buddhist Palm style" -- the same as what?
- "In reality, it does not leave palm-shaped craters and holes on impact." -- this is a real style as well? the previous sentence indicated it was just a wuxia film.
- The comparisons to Of Mice and Men, Palm of Ru Lai, The Return of the Condor Heroes, Internal Affairs, Blues Brothers, Untouchables, The Godfather, For Whom the Bell Tolls, Raging Bull, and Way of the Dragon appear to be original research--is there any source that contains these comparisons that could be included here? I'm not sure this information is worth including if it doesn't appear in any sources.
Of Mice and Men
Palm of Ru Lai
The Return of the Condor Heroes
Internal Affairs
Blues Brothers
Untouchables
The Godfather
For Whom the Bell Tolls
Raging Bull
Way of the Dragon
- "As a result, Kung Fu Hustle 2 is slated for a 2014 release" -- Is this still accurate? The source appears to be a dead link from 2005.
- "An MMO 2D side-scrolling fighter game based on the film is currently undergoing closed beta testing in Taiwan, and is due for release in 2010." -- This paragraph clearly needs to be updated. -- Khazar2 (talk) 21:49, 5 March 2013 (UTC)

Esprit d'amour GAR again?
[edit]I see that you renominated the film, even though some of my suggestions have not been implemented. I will be watching to see what the new reviewer has to say. Torchwood GA Review

Reviewer: Grandiose (talk · contribs) 18:50, 15 April 2013 (UTC)
I'll be undertaking this review. The first point to note is the number of unsourced statements in the article that I consider sufficiently controversial/possible to source to merit a citation at GA ("direct quotations, statistics, published opinion, counter-intuitive or controversial statements that are challenged or likely to be challenged, and contentious material relating to living persons"):
- The first series includes content rarely seen or heard in the Doctor Whofranchise, including sex scenes, same-sex kissing, and use of extreme profanity in several episodes.
- Due to the level of interest in the show from younger audience members, despite the adult themes, the BBC decided to craft the second series such that a "child-friendly" edit of the shows could go out at 7 pm (pre-watershed). This had the effect that many of the more adult themes ceased to be central to the main episode plot, so they could be more easily edited out for the child-friendly edition.
- Series 3 was produced by Peter Bennett. Series 4 is produced by Kelly A Manners, with UK filming produced by Brian Minchin, producer of Series 4 and 5 of The Sarah Jane Adventures. The series also shares Doctor Who's production designer, Edward Thomas. Music for the series is composed by Ben Foster and Doctor Who's composer Murray Gold, with composerStu Kennedy assisting on Series 4.
- In lieu of full-length title sequence, the opening sequence of the show's first two series are composed of a voice-over monologue by Barrowman as Harkness, establishing the show's premise. The show's theme tune plays over this monologue and the additional intertitle. As in Doctor Who (2005–present), it is written by Murray Gold. (a partial citation would suffice here)
- This reflected the in-universe story of Adam psychically inserting himself into the team members' memories as a long-standing member of the team.
- However, Suzie was killed off at the end of the first episode with Gwen taking her place on the team, Suz
- the military base scenes in "Sleeper" and the booby-trapped abandoned warehouse scenes in "Fragments" were filmed at RAF Caerwent, near Chepstow, south Wales.
- Torchwood explores several themes in its narrative, in particular LGBT themes. Various characters are portrayed as sexually fluid; through those characters, the series examines homosexual and bisexual relationships. The programme also addresses issues around existentialism, the nature of human life and the absence of a traditional afterlife, and the corrupting nature of power.
- The magazine emulated Doctor Who Magazine in combining behind-the-scenes features with original story content in the form of a serialised comic strip and short stories; as the magazine's run progressed, the original fiction became more predominant. The magazine was discontinued in early 2011 after two-dozen issues.
- Titan published six issues of a monthly Torchwood comic book in 2009 for North American markets; the comic consisted of reprints of the magazine's comic strips and short stories, and was cancelled in the wake of the parent publication folding.
- Accompanying the main series of Torchwood are a series of novels. The books are published in paperback-sized hardcover format, the same format BBC Books uses for its New Series Adventures line for Doctor Who. These novels were later released, abridged, as audiobooks. Several audio-exclusive readings have also been produced. To date all of the core cast members from the first two series have narrated at least one abridged or audio-exclusive reading.
- In its third series, the Doctor Who parody Nebulous also began to parody Torchwood, with references to "baby dinosaurs falling through a hole in time" and "the sheer amount of paranormal activity in the Cardiff area alone ... starting to threaten the Earth's plausibility shield".
- Satirical impressionist television series Dead Ringers also parodied Torchwood, with Jon Culshaw playing Captain Jack and Jan Ravens as Gwen Cooper. The sketches parodied the level of sex in Torchwood, claiming "we never deal with an alien unless at least one [of the team] has shagged it", and describing the lack of motivations of the characters. It also parodies the bisexuality of the characters and the melodramatic personality of Jack, who in the sketch walks extremely dramatically, swinging his coat about himself. (unless in ref 101)
- According to the overnight figures, the mini-series garnered an average rating of 5.88 million viewers. According to official figures, published by Broadcasters' Audience Research Board (BARB), all five episodes of the mini-series garnered more than 6 million viewers, with the fourth episode gaining the largest audience.
- In Israel, the first 3 series aired on yes Stars Action and currently available on HOT V.O.D services, in HD also.
- Miracle Day has only been shown in Australia on UKTV but not as yet on the ABC although the series is available on DVD and Blu-ray home video formats.
- The Europe section
- Series two began airing on Space on 8 August 2008 and series three was aired on Space over five consecutive nights in July 2009. Space has since broadcast series 1 and repeated series 2. The series also airs in high definition on HDNet.
- Miracle Day is sometimes repeated on Starz InBlack.
This is a lot and I realise it will take some time to complete: for that reason, I am placing the article on hold for seven days but if there has been progress by that time I will keep the article on hold and provide a fuller review. Grandiose (me, talk, contribs) 18:50, 15 April 2013 (UTC)
In light of the large amount of work needed, and the 12 days that have passed since the above comments, I think the best thing would be for me to give as much feedback on some of the other criteria and close the review as a fail - it can be renominated once the concerns are addressed.
Layout/balance - summary style suggests that the "Themes" section is too short: even where a subpage exists, it should provide a decent summary of that content. This should be expanded (and referenced, as above). The "Parodies" section is given too much space, by contrast; it forms a relatively small part of what the reader is interested in. Reducing some of the detail would be a big improvement there. Overall structure seems fine.
Images one non-free file, which has, apparently, been reviewed and kept before (it might be good to link this on the file description page).
Prose - no significant problems.
Neutral, stable - no concerns.
Referencing - the citations needed are given above. Remember the text of citations can remove ugly and unnecessary block capitals. The following other references need further attention

Hello, I'm reviewing this article. It's my practice to do a general review by filing out the template, and then do a more thorough prose and source review. See below. Note: I'm using this review for the GA Recruitment Centre, so I expect to be more descriptive of what I do during it. Christine (Figureskatingfan) (talk) 02:06, 29 June 2013 (UTC)
GA review – see WP:WIAGA for criteria
An interesting article about a topic I don't know much about--Chinese cinema--so it was fun to learn about it. There are some minor prose issues which should be easily resolved. At first glance, I notice that many of sources are from pop culture websites that not every reviewer would accept as reliable. However, given the subject matter and the need for comprehensiveness, I find them acceptable. See below for a more comprehensive prose and source review. Also at first glance, most of my concerns with this article have to do with MOS issues; also see below.
- Is it reasonably well written?
- A. Prose quality:
- I have minor issues with the prose here; see below for a more thorough review.
- B. MoS compliance for lead, layout, words to watch, fiction, and lists:
- As I state above, I'm unfamiliar with Hong Kong cinema, so I looked around at other similar articles. Unfortunately, there aren't any Hong Kong action comedy film GAs to compare this with. (Or fortunately, because this may the first!) ;) The closest I was able to find was The Killer (1989 film), which is a "Hong Kong action and crime film". I have two MOS issues. The first is the "Plot" section. At about 600 words, it fits within the suggested length (400-700 words; see WP:FILMPLOT. I'm not sure, though, if it's got enough of a a real-world perspective. The Killer's article is a good example of a plot summary written from a real-world perspective; also see WP:Real world. (I'll go into more examples and suggestions during my prose review.) Finally, I'm not sure what I think about the "Parodies and references" section; it strikes me as too close to a "Trivia" section, which is generally forbidden. See WP:TRIVIA. Mind you, this is a guideline, and as it states, there are exceptions. I can understand why this section is included in this article, since a theme in the film are the many references to other films, ect, as well as the source of much of its humor. I wonder if the solution is to re-name the section; perhaps you should strike "Parodies" and just name it "References" or "References to other works". Let me think about it a couple of days and see what I come up with.
- A. Prose quality:
- Is it factually accurate and verifiable?
- A. Has an appropriate reference section:
- It's good practice to check your sources, and make sure they're up-to-date and unbroken. I suggest that you go through them and update the access dates; it's a good idea if they're less than a year old.
- B. Citation to reliable sources where necessary:
- I'm reserving judgment about this until I do a more thorough source review; see below.
- C. No original research:
- A. Has an appropriate reference section:
- Is it broad in its coverage?
- A. Major aspects:
- I need to look more closely at your sources, which may not be the most reliable, although I recognize that sometimes one must abandon reliability for scope, especially for articles about movies. Of course, that often means that it may not have the potential to advance to FAC, and that may be the case here.
- B. Focused:
- A. Major aspects:
- Is it neutral?
- Fair representation without bias:
- Fair representation without bias:
- Is it stable?
- No edit wars, etc:
- Checking the article history, there is little controversy here; it's edited by a few main editors. As a matter of fact, the last edit was 16 June.
- No edit wars, etc:
- Does it contain images to illustrate the topic?
- A. Images are tagged with their copyright status, and valid fair use rationales are provided for non-free content:
- I admit that I'm not the best judge of images, but I'm letting it pass since the criteria for GAs is less strict. I suggest getting a second opinion. Are there any free images of any of the actors, producers, or writers?
- B. Images are provided if possible and are relevant to the topic, and have suitable captions:
- A. Images are tagged with their copyright status, and valid fair use rationales are provided for non-free content:
- Overall:
- Pass or Fail:
- I'll reserve judgment for now, until after my prose and source review.
- Pass or Fail:
Prose review
[edit]Lead
- Kung Fu Hustle is a 2004 Hong Kong action comedy film directed, co-written and co-produced by, and starring, Stephen Chow. Breaks the parallel structure grammar rule. How about breaking it up, like this: "Kung Fu Hustle is a 2004 Hong Kong action comedy film. It was directed, co-written, and co-produced by Stephen Chow, who also had the lead role." Done
- The other producers were Chui Po-chu and Jeffrey Lau, while the screenplay was co-written... "While", although it's a conjunction, isn't the best choice here because it implies that the screenplay was being co-written at the same time the movie was produced. I'd simply replace it with "and". Done
- After the commercial success of Shaolin Soccer, by the production company Star Overseas, they, together with Columbia Pictures Film Production Asia began to develop Kung Fu Hustle in 2002. Unclear sentence construction. How about: "After the commercial success of Shaolin Soccer, its production company, Star Overseas, began to develop Kung Fu Hustle with Columbia Pictures Film Production Asia in 2002." Done
- Although the film features the return of a number of retired actors famous for 1970s Hong Kong action cinema, it contrasts with other martial arts films released at around the same time that have made the biggest impact in the West, such as Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and Hero. Unclear and too long; plus, it's unclear how the two phrases are connected. How about: "The film features a number of retired actors famous for 1970s Hong Kong action cinema, yet has been compared to contemporary and influential martial arts films such as Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and Hero." Done
Plot
- I've already talked about the in-universe style of this section. As I stated above, I think that you should change it to be more like The Killers article. For example, the first two sentence of the section are too dramatic for an encyclopedic article. I think that if you changed the tone, many of the other prose issues would be resolved. I can help you with this if you like, and can copy-edit it for you if you like. Done
Cast: Isn't "Kung Fu" always capitalized? If so, please change, not just here but throughout the article. Done
Development
- Major inspiration for the film came from martial arts films Chow watched as a child and his childhood ambition to become a martial artist. Passive voice, so I'd change it to active. How about: "Chow was inspired to create the film by the martial arts films he watched as a child and by his childhood ambition to become a martial artist." Done
- He grew up in an environment similar to the Alley... Where'd he grow up? I think including that information is important, even for those of us who don't know China well. Done
- He grew up in an environment similar to the Alley, and the plot included many aspects of his former daily life. The source doesn't say anything about his former daily life influencing the plot. It states: "The Pig Sty is exactly what I lived in the past, the same shape, same kind of building, same situations, a lot of people living together." It's kind of an important statement, so I'd just quote him. Done
Choreography
- I think this section is misnamed; it's about more than just the choreography. As per the Film MOS, perhaps "Filming"? Done
- Production suffered a setback when Hung quit... Unencyclopedic; how about just removing everything before "Hung quit"? Done
- To replace Hung, Chow immediately contacted Yuen Woo-ping... I suggest that you avoid starting sentences with a preposition. You don't need to say that Chow "immediately contacted" Woo-ping. How about: Hung was replaced by Yuen Woo-ping..." Done
- Yuen promptly accepted the offer, and certain scenes that had been in production under Hung were cancelled. Ref 13 supports the sentence before, but not this one. I suggest that you either find a source or remove the sentence. If you find a source, what scenes were cancelled? Done
* Much of the second paragraph of this section reads choppy to me. I think that you need to vary the sentences and put them in different order. For example, you could put the sentence about the CGI team's work on high resolution after the sentence introducing the company. If you like, I can copy-edit the paragraph for you.
Casting
- Kung Fu Hustle pays tribute to many celebrated veterans of Hong Kong action cinema of the 1970s. "Many celebrated veterans" is a bit peacocky to me. I'd replace it with "several actors who became famous in..." Done
* I think that this section suffers from some of the things I talked about before: unencyclopedic language and structural problems. I think you should go through and do a copy-edit to tighten up the language. Again, I can copy-edit if you like.
Music': Does your sources explain the differences in the Chinese and American versions? If not, no biggie; I was just curious. Done
Parodies and references
- As I state above, I think you should change the name of this section. Done
* Forgive my repetition, but this section also needs a thorough copy-edit to correct for some of the same issues I've mentioned above, especially structure. Again, I can help.
Releases
- Kung Fu Hustle had its world premiere at the 2004 Toronto International Film Festival. This is an international film, so you don't need to mention that this was its "world premiere". You could just state that it premiered at the festival. Done
- In the same way, the Italian and Spanish titles... In the same way as what? I don't think you need that phrase; I suggest cutting it. Done
Reception
- Film critic Roger Ebert described the film as being "like Jackie Chan and Buster Keaton meet Quentin Tarantino and Bugs Bunny". The comment was printed on the promotion posters for Kung Fu Hustle in the US. Cool quote; Ebert was so awesome. I think this would flow better if you combined these two thoughts. How about: "Film critic Roger Ebert description of the film ("like Jackie Chan and Buster Keaton meet Quentin Tarantino and Bugs Bunny"), was printed on the promotion posters for Kung Fu Hustle in the US." Done
* As often happens in "Reception" sections, this is a collection of quotes from reviews. I actually read the Ebert review; there's so much there you could have used, like that he made the above statement at Sundance; his comparisons of this film with Shaolin Soccer", "Singin' in the Rain", and Astaire and Rogers; his statements about choreography and martial arts. That actually brings up another point for me; articles about movies should make me want to watch it. To be honest, I didn't, until I read Ebert's review. You need that same spirit here. I'm not saying that you need to write as well as Ebert, although that's not a bad goal to set, since he was doing another kind of writing, but I am saying that it could improve here.
- Much of the criticism for the film was directed at its lack of character development and a coherent plot. Las Vegas Weekly, for instance, criticised the film for the lack of a central protagonist and character depth. I suggest that you re-word these sentences, to vary the language a bit. "Lack of" is used too many times. Done
Sequel: In 2005, Chow asserted that there would be a sequel... "Asserted" isn't the best choice here; how about "announced" or even "stated"? Done
Online and PS3: This short section needs a copy-edit; it mixes tenses. I think that you should state that the game has not yet been released earlier. Done
Ok, that's it for now. I'll put a note on the nominator's talk page informing him of the review. You have a week (until 7/10) to respond to these comments; if there's no response (as was the case in its first GA), I'll fail it. Good luck! Christine (Figureskatingfan) (talk) 17:58, 3 July 2013 (UTC)
Other Things to do
- Write about the censorship in the United States DVD/Blu-ray and how id differs and that a uncut version was later released in the US. Done
- Mention the DVD special edition with the inflatable axe. Done Thanks Kelvin 101 (talk) 14:05, 6 July 2013 (UTC)
Source review
[edit]- According to WP:LEADCITE, it's unnecessary to include references in the lead, except to support exceptional and controversial claims, and for quotes. Nothing in the lead can be classified in that way, so I suggest that you remove them. Of course, that means that you're going to have to redistribute them. I checked for source links for a few, to make sure that nothing was broken, and they were good. I have some issues with how some of them are utilized; for example, ref 6 just states that the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra performed the film's soundtrack, not the type of music. The point is somewhat moot, anyway, since you make the same claim later on and support it with a different ref. Done
- Ref 1 is formatted incorrectly; the article's URL and Box Office Mojo belong in different tags. Use the WP:CIT templates. Done
- Ref 4: Using IMBD is frowned upon. I suggest that you remove it, since it doesn't support any claims anyway. Done
- Ref 20: What are the question marks for? Make sure that you've formatted your refs correctly. Done
- Some of the refs are in Chinese. I don't speak it, so I'm assuming good faith (AGF) that you've incorporated them Done
correctly (i.e., no close paraphrasing, they support your claims).
- I agree with the tag; ref 47 (IMBD) is unreliable. Please remove content or find a more reliable source. Done

Kel, I really wish you hadn't put the GA review over here; it makes things really confusing. I ask that you respond to my feedback on the review page, where it belongs. What in the heck does the yellow highlighting mean? Also, let me know if you want to accept my offer of copy-editing assistance. Thanks. Christine (Figureskatingfan) (talk) 22:10, 5 July 2013 (UTC)
Hi again, you might have noticed that I've passed the article, since with my copy-edits, I feel like it now satisfies the criteria. I did have a few more questions, but if you addressed them after the fact, that's fine, since I didn't think they needed to be resolved before passing it to GA. I'd like to share with you some advice about the GAC process, if I may; you can, as they say, take it or leave it. (1) As I request above, it's better if you address the feedback/comments of a GAC at its original site--on the GAC page. That way, it's in just one place for the reviewer and, in the future, for others to refer to it. That doesn't mean you can't place part of it on your talk page so you can a place to refer to as you work, though. (2) I highly suggest that you prepare for a review better. Make sure, at the very least, that it satisfies the GA criteria. One of my WP pet peeves is editors using the review process (both GAC and FAC) to get feedback and editorial assistance. I don't think that's the place for it, but fortunately, this is WP and there are lots of other options. You could simply ask an editor you respect to copy-edit and/or peer review it informally. (I'm always happy to do so; all you have to do is ask, and unless I'm swamped, I'll agree.) You can also submit an article at Wikipedia:Peer review and/or the WP:GOCE. Over-preparation is always best; it makes everyone's life (even yours) much easier. Just yesterday, I had two of my GAs pass with almost no trouble. Anyway, good luck in the future, and any time I can help with one of your articles, please let me know. Christine (Figureskatingfan) (talk) 05:50, 10 July 2013 (UTC)

Doctor Who article
[edit]Hey Kelvin, I noticed you nominated Doctor Who for GA again. You might want to sort out the tag on the Spoofs and cultural references section as it would currently qualify for another quick fail (which I nearly just did, but I realised I did that previously in April and I didn't want it to seem like I was being obstructive on this article!). :) Miyagawa (talk) 20:37, 7 September 2013 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free image File:A Town Called Mercy.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:A Town Called Mercy.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Doctor Who article
[edit]Hi, in response to my comment at Talk:Doctor Who/GA2, I've made a rough outline at User:Glimmer721/sandbox/Doctor Who outline. I'd really like to help although I may not have all the sources (books are extremely valuable in this case as are DVDs which I do have a few of) but we could start and then bring attention to the rest of the project. Doing one section and starting with the easier ones at a time would be a good way to start. What do you think? Glimmer721 talk 17:34, 27 October 2013 (UTC)
- Yes and I've also found that other articles have references that we can borrow. The BBC Classic Who page actually borrows a lot from The Television Companion and The Discontinuity Guide. I've got some recent DWM issues which at the very least have a good article about bringing the series back (and how spin-off media was affected), and I should be able to cover the 2010s easily. Essentially going through Template:Doctor Who and finding a way to incorporate everything briefly while remaining out-of-universe and proving why each thing is notable is the goal. It's kind of difficult to find how to arrange everything though!
